How can I access COVID-19 Testing?
NEW: The White House has announced a new limited round of free at-home COVID-19 tests for the winter. Households can now order either standard at-home tests or tests that are more accessible for people who are blind or have low vision. Shipping is free. Older adults and people with disabilities who need support ordering the free at-home tests can contact the Eldercare Locator (800-677-1116) or the Disability Information and Access Line (DIAL, 888-677-1199).
Many health insurance plans cover COVID-19 tests without a copay, coinsurance, or deductible for persons with symptoms of COVID-19. Locations throughout the state offer COVID-19 tests, including hospitals, pharmacies, primary care offices, urgent care centers. Tests for active COVID-19 disease are available in locations across New Hampshire and include both the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test and the rapid antigen test.
Starting January 15, most people with a health plan can go online, or to a pharmacy or store to purchase an at-home over-the-counter COVID-19 diagnostic test authorized by the FDA at no cost, either through reimbursement or free of charge through their insurance. Over-the-counter at-home COVID-19 rapid antigen tests are also available for purchase at many pharmacies and the New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlets.
What do I do if I don’t have insurance or my insurance does not cover the cost of COVID-19 testing?
Persons who do not have insurance or have a health insurance plan that does not fully cover the cost of COVID-19 testing, vaccine administration, and treatment may also have these services paid for by the New Hampshire Medicaid COVID-19 Group.
